Inside Line Promotions – HAUBSTADT, Ind. (May 16, 2018) – Greg Wilson is trying to overcome a tough blow he endured last Friday.

Wilson and his Hercules Tires, DNC Hydraulics, Ohio Logistics and Gear Alloy Wheels sponsored team hustled to build a new car prior to a World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series tripleheader, which began on Friday at Eldora Speedway near Rossburg, Ohio.

Unfortunately, Wilson was caught up in an opening-lap crash during his heat race. He was unable to resume competition that night and the team was forced to go to a backup car for the remainder of the weekend.

“I’m thankful Maxim builds good race cars, Simpson makes great safety products and ButlerBuilt manufactures great seats,” he said.

“We built the race car and thrashed all week. Even though we didn’t get to run that car that much and we came back to Eldora with a different race car on Saturday, it was definitely a learning experience. What I feel like caused the wreck and what happened on Saturday, I’m hoping it told us some of our problems. The good thing about going to Eldora is that our setup is usually pretty good and we weren’t good with either car. Eldora is so fast I think it magnified a problem. If things start getting better a huge part of it is because of the wreck.”

Wilson made progress in the Last Chance Showdown on Saturday at Eldora Speedway, where he maneuvered from 13th to seventh place to finish only three positions shy of a transfer to the A Main.

The weekend concluded on Sunday at Tri-State Speedway without much luck, which reinforced Wilson’s belief a couple of changes need to be made.

“We’re going to make some changes this week and hopefully that will help us move forward,” he said.

Wilson and his team are working hard to revamp everything prior to another busy three-race week with the World of Outlaws, featuring an event on Thursday at Lincoln Speedway in Abbottstown, Pa., during the Gettysburg Clash and races on Friday and Saturday at Williams Grove Speedway in Mechanicsburg, Pa., during the Morgan Cup.

“I’m a little pumped to see what will happen once we get going,” he said. “Looking at the forecast we might have to wait a bit, but hopefully Mother Nature will work with us this weekend.”
