26 Promotions – Casa Grande, AZ – (May 16, 2018) – Dale Eliason Jr has yet to finish outside of the top-five this season and entering Saturday night’s Power 600 Series event, he had yet to be beaten on the newly constructed Micro Sprint track at Central Arizona Speedway.
The Iceman’s night kicked off with heat race action, where he’d start third in heat one on a very challenging track as the wind and warm temperatures made for an inconsistent racing surface. Eliason Jr would not be able to make up any ground and would finish third missing the six-car feature invert by two spots which would line him up on the outside of the fourth row for the start of the 20-lap feature.
“I was pretty confident being four for four and I was really comfortable with the changes my dad made on the car from the heat race, I felt we were good for the main event,” Eliason Jr said.
Jr was able to make quick progress in the first couple of laps, passing three cars and setting his sights on third-place.
“We worked our way up to fourth, but the car in third was glued to the bottom of the track. I could have pushed him out of the way, but I decided that finishing fourth was better than spinning him out or taking home a wrecked car,” he said.
The fourth-place finish ends Eliason Jr’s win streak at four but extends his streak of top-five finishes to seven.
The Iceman returns to action Saturday night at Central Arizona Speedway with the Power 600 Series Non-Wing Micros.
Dale Eliason Jr would like to thank Affordable Powder Coatings & Affordable Extreme Coatings, Custom Caretaking Plus INC, Guhl Motors, Industrial Machinery Services, PMP Chassis, Hamblin Motorsports, Radical Race Gear, and T & K Repair for their continued support.
