Shane Call Eager to Make Sprint Car Debut for CH Motorsports This Friday

Inside Line Promotions – LYONS, Ohio (May 15, 2018) – Shane Call is looking forward to making his 305ci winged sprint car debut for CH Motorsports this Friday at Attica Raceway Park.

The bullring in Attica, Ohio, hosts the first competition in any type of racing for the 18-year-old son of Aaron Call, who is the co-owner of CH Motorsports with Janet Holbrook.

“This is something I’ve looked forward to for a long time and I’m glad that day is finally going to be here,” said Shane Call, whose first laps on a race track came approximately a week ago during a special practice session at nearby Oakshade Raceway under the tutelage of his father, who is a former sprint car driver.

“The practice went pretty good. We got a lot of things figured out and I got pretty comfortable with the car.”

Shane has been a crew member for the CH Motorsports 410ci and 360ci winged sprint car driven by Rob Chaney and Holbrook felt he deserved an opportunity to drive thanks in part to the strong effort he provides to the team.

“Janet is really the heart and soul behind this deal,” Aaron Call said. “Janet and Shane had been talking about this last year and she thought he deserved a chance because he had been working hard on our 410 car.

“She asked me how I felt about giving Shane a shot at driving and I said I didn’t have a problem with it as long as his mother is good with it, which she was. Janet has done this for many others throughout her life. She loves the sport and the people in it. It’s unbelievable how many people she’s helped.”

The team will primarily race weekly at Attica Raceway Park for now.

“We’d like to race every week at Attica, although we’ll miss the Friday after this one since Shane is graduating from high school that weekend,” Aaron Call said. “Janet thought Attica would be the best place for him to learn. There’s a lot of room to race there. We don’t want to put him into an over-challenging situation right away. I think it’s a friendly track to someone who is just starting out. If things progress well, we might consider other tracks.

“We were fortunate to get a number of local businesses on board with us. A lot of them helped me out when I started racing years ago. They’re excited about a family member racing.”
