Inside Line Promotions – LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (May 15, 2018) – Alex Hill will take this weekend off from racing as she is busy moving from Los Angeles back to her home in Canada following three nights of challenging races with the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour presented by SawBlade.com last week.

Hill’s extended racing weekend got off to a rough start on Wednesday when her car sustained heavy damage after making contact with the first turn wall during a heat race crash at Humboldt Speedway in Humboldt, Kan. The impact ended her night early as she wasn’t able to start the A Main.

“I’m not too sure what happened since I haven’t seen any video,” she said. “I didn’t want to be up near the wall because my car was too tight, but I didn’t have much of a choice after I was bumped on the straightway. It was definitely a tough way to start the weekend, especially for my crew.”

Mechanical problems struck Hill the following night at Lakeside Speedway in Kansas City, Kan. She was unable to finish her heat race, forcing her to start deep in the B Main. Hill ended 11th in the consolation race.

“The fuel line backed out,” she said. “That was a problem we had last year. I knew the top was the faster line in the B Main, but I didn’t really want to risk running up there after my crew guys had just built a new car after the wreck the night before.”

The weekend concluded on Saturday at I-30 Speedway, where Hill was able to advance a position in her heat race before losing the spot just before the checkered flag. That resulted in a seventh-place starting position in the B Main, from which she was unable to advance.

“I had a great start in the B and passed a couple of cars,” she said. “But there was a caution and we had a complete restart. I didn’t pass anyone on the second start and just stayed in that position through the race. I learned some things though and the last five laps of the race were probably the best ones of the weekend. But overall, it was a struggle.”

Hill is looking forward to finishing her first year of college in Los Angeles this week before moving back home to Canada.

“My final test is on Thursday,” she said. “My mom is flying out here and then we’re going to take four or five days driving home. It will be nice to be back home and I’m looking forward to traveling with the team when they’re on the road.”

With no races scheduled for the ASCS National Tour the following weekend, Hill plans to race in Ohio with the K&L Ready Mix NRA Sprint Invaders on May 25 at Limaland Motorsports Park in Lima; May 26 at Fremont Speedway in Fremont; and May 27 at Waynesfield Raceway Park in Waynesfield.
