It appears that summer may have made an early appearance in Bloomington this week, with significantly warmer temperatures and clear sunny skies. This leads to a big night of great racing on tap at the Bloomington quarter-mile Friday. The general admission gate will open at 5:30, with hot laps at 6:30 and racing about 7:30. Grandstand admission is just $15, with kids 12 and under admitted free with an adult.

It will be the second night of point-paying competition for the Tom White & Company Real Estate Sprint Cars, following an Opening Night top-3 consisting of Kyle Cummins, Jordan Kinser and Joe Stornetta, Jr. The racing card also features the AJ Bowlen Realtor with Re/Max Acclaimed Properties-sponsored UMP modifieds, with Jacoby Hines leading the points after three races. But Jeff Deckard and Chad Combs are lurking close behind, waiting for an opportunity to pounce. The third division in action Friday is the Brandeis Machinery Super Stocks. Jason Hehman was two wins already this season to pace the stocks, with Jack Frye sitting second after last Friday’s feature win. Steve Cummings, Brad Cummings and Chip Slagle compete the top five in that division.
