Stacy Verrall, SEATTLE, Wash. (July 21, 2010) - Jack Dilley Logging offered up $5,000 this year for the ASCS Northwest's Mid-Season Point Fund to be distributed among the top five in accumulative points from the July 3-4 weekend in Cottage Grove and all five of the 13th Annual Northwest Speedweek races (1 @Southern Oregon Speedway, 1 @Willamette Speedway, 1 @Sunset Speedway, 2 @Grays Harbor Raceway).
Early on it appeared Roger Crockett was untouchable after sweeping the Cottage Grove event and picking up an additional win at Willamette Speedway during speedweek. However, Crockett wasn't nearly as dominant at Grays Harbor Raceway missing both A-Main features and swinging the door wide open for a new ASCS Northest Mid-Season Champion.
Had Jason Solwold finished third and had Mitch Olson made the A-Main on Saturday at Grays Harbor Raceway, the seemingly unstoppable Crockett would have been dethroned. But Crockett managed to hold on to his lead barely edging out Olson by a mere three points. And right on Olson's tail in a position to have been the mid-season top dog was Chadd Noland, trailing Crockett by only six points in the final point standings.
1st: Roger Crockett with 867 points ($2000)
2nd: Mitch Olson with 864 points ($1000)
3rd: Chadd Noland with 861 points ($800)
4th: (TIE) Jayme Barnes and Henry Van Dam both with 845 points ($600/each)
