Inside Line Promotions – SALINA, Okla. (May 8, 2018) – Jason Sides is heading to a track where he’s won a pair of World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series events during his career.

Sides and the series will compete at Eldora Speedway near Rossburg, Ohio, this Friday and Saturday. Sides scored feature victories at the oval in 2004 and 2009, including capturing the famed Kings Royal during that first win.

“I like racing there,” he said. “We’ve had some good runs. We need to have a good qualifying effort and that is what will set us up for success.”

Sides has posted at least one top-10 result at the half-mile oval during three of the last four seasons.

He will wrap up this weekend on Sunday at Tri-State Speedway in Haubstadt, Ind., where Mother Nature has forced the first two attempts to be postponed. He has earned a top-10 finish during three of his last six races at the bullring.

“Hats off to them for trying to get it in,” he said. “We had so many rainouts early in the season we need to try to get as many of these races in.”

Sides competed twice in the Midwest last weekend with the World of Outlaws. The action began on Friday at Lake Ozark Speedway in Eldon, Mo., where Sides qualified 11th quickest, placed fifth in a heat race after being involved in a crash and ended 14th in the A Main.

“We weren’t too bad in the heat race, but Kraig (Kinser) had a good run and got by Shane (Stewart) and myself going into turns one and two,” he said. “It was a little drier in turns three and four and he spun around and collected us. We restarted at the back and got back by another car to make the A Main. Then the feature wasn’t bad, but we needed to start further up front.”

Sides ventured to Salina Highbanks Speedway on Saturday. He timed in 14th quickest in qualifying, finished fifth in a heat race and closed the night with a 15th-place run in the main event.

“The track was already getting shiny so we left some used tires on there,” he said. “It took rubber around Lap 5 or Lap 6. Once it starts laying rubber you can’t really run it much harder because you worry about it blowing out. The used tire made it 28 and ¾ laps before it blew out.”
