ASCS Patriots Prepare for Fast Track Summer Shootout at Rolling Wheels

Rich Vleck, TULSA, Okla. (July 20, 2010)- The ASCS Patriots move from the ¼-mile Cornwall Motor Speedway, the smallest tack on tour, to the 5/8-mile Rolling Wheels Raceway this weekend, the largest track on tour, for two big nights of racing as part of the Fast Track Summer Shootout.

Friday Night’s event will pay $2,000-to-win, while Saturday’s Finale will hand out $3,000 to the leader at the completion of the 25-lap event. With the United Racing Company and Empire Super Sprints also sanctioning the event, just getting in the A-Mains will be a challenge.

Over the years, the Patriots have hosted five stand-alone events at the Elbridge, NY facility, with an additional event in 2006 being run for show-up points.

The July 23 and 24 shows will be part of the 2010 A-Verdi Storage Containers King of Upstate New York Series. Any competitor running either night will be adding 50 points towards their overall championship and King of Upstate NY totals.

Jared Zimbardi, of Little Valley, NY, will enter this challenge event with a 29-point advantage in the standings. Zimbardi’s best career finish at RWR is sixth place, and will be looking to attack the large track for his first top-five.

Bryan Howland can call “The Wheels” his hometown track, residing just miles down the road in Auburn. “Flyin’ Bryan” has been mellifluous in front of his friends and family, winning his first trip there in 2005 and scoring five other top-six finishes against stout competition.

Bubba Broderick, from Brookfield, CT, made his first start at Rolling Wheels in 2007 to test the waters. He also appeared at the track in 2008.

Tim Kelly, from Rock Stream, NY, is the current A-Verdi Storage Containers King of Upstate New York Point Leader. Despite struggling throughout much of June and July, Kelly turned around his luck Sunday at Cornwall with a third-place showing and is set to get back into the swing closer to home.

Don Adamczyk, from Williamsville, NY, returns after taking a week off. “The Williamsville Warrior” is known for his prowess on shorter tracks but has quality power under the hood to make him a formidable opponent at the “Fast Track”.

Bobby Breen currently standings second in the King of Upstate New York Standings. As the defending A-Verdi King of CNY Champion, “Dobbers” has always been strong around his Savannah, NY residence. His older brother, Blake, has an even better track record, with a third in 2007 his best result.

Another Patriot expected to be on hand include Brockville winner and leading Insinger Race Fuels Rookie of the Year contender Shayne Ely, whose grandfather George ran in the first year the speedway was open in 1969.

Keep an eye out for George Suprick, Trevor Lewis, Brandan Warner, Kyle Moffit, Dylan Swiernik and Ray Preston to also be in competition against a loaded field.

At least 50 cars are expected for each night of racing, with Friday’s program kicking off at 7:00 P.M. and Saturday’s card including group time trials, starting at 6:00 P.M.
