Popular series returns to Silver Dollar on Friday, Placerville Speedway on Saturday

[b ROSEVILLE, CA –] The excitement of Wingless Sprint Car racing is returning to two different racetracks that are managed by Handy Racing Promotions Incorporated for an electrifying double header that could have a very heavy bearing on the eventual outcome of the 2010 championship title for this traveling series. It's the Hunt Magnetos Wingless Sprint Car Shootout Series and its bound for Silver Dollar Speedway on Friday night and Placerville Speedway on Saturday.
Hunt Magnetos Wingless Shootout Series consists of 12 events at three different California tracks. The series races at each facility four times between April and October for increased payouts and a $5,000 championship bonus sponsored by Hunt Magnetos that will be distributed among the top drivers in the series at its conclusion.
In addition to the championship fund for the touring campaign, the winner of each feature event in the shootout is guaranteed a healthy $1000 victory. Hunt Magnetos will also award various product incentives throughout the tour including a pair of $50 vouchers during each event.
On top of the boosted winnings, the Joe Hunt Magnetos Wingless Shootout determines the starting grid for the popular Wingless Invitational at Silver Dollar Speedway in Chico which opens the Gold Cup Race of Champions on Wednesday night, the top 30 drivers in the series as in concludes will be eligible for that high profile race.
This Friday night, the competitors of this exciting series will return to the banked quarter-mile on the Silver Dollar Fairgrounds to get another night on the track that will host the crown jewel of the campaign on September 8th.
On Friday night the Wingless Shootout will share the spotlight with the 410 sprint cars, and the ASCS Midgets in the weekly championship series at Silver Dollar Speedway presented by Feather Falls Casino-Hoosier Racing Tires - Riebes Auto Parts – Coors Lights and Pepsi Cola.
On Saturday night the division will be part of a four division program at Placerville Speedway in the Red Hawk Casino – Hoosier Racing Tires-Riebes Auto Parts-Coors Light –Pepsi Cola Championship series featuring Limited Late Models, Pure Stocks and the addition of the Dirt Modifieds that return after a several year hiatus.
Entering this action packed weekend, Terry Schank Jr. of Santa Rosa continues to lead the point standings in the Wingless Shootout Championship Series. Schank is currently seven points ahead of Grass Valley's Billy Wallace and Chico's Taylor Simas who are tied for third in the standings. Timmy Sherman Jr. of Citrus Heights is fourth in the point standings over Lincoln's Scott Hall. Hall is 59-points our of the lead rounding out the top five.
On Friday night the gates to Silver Dollar Speedway will open at 6 p.m. with racing beginning at 7 p.m. Adult tickets will be $12.00, juniors and seniors $10.00 and Children will be $5.
