Inside Line Promotions – CLAY, N.Y. (May 3, 2018) – Joe Trenca is hopeful the weather forecast is better in Central Pennsylvania this weekend than last.
“We had planned on racing down there, but with a six-hour drive and the weather not looking very good we decided not to make the trip,” he said. “Hopefully everything is great this weekend and we can get back down there.”
Trenca plans on competing in the 410ci sprint car division at Williams Grove Speedway in Mechanicsburg on Friday before returning to his home state of New York for a Patriot Sprint Tour show at Land of Legends Raceway in Canandaigua on Saturday.
“It’s been a while since we have been able to race at Williams Grove so we can’t wait to get more laps there,” he said. “That track is tough so the more laps we can run the better we’ll get.”
Trenca has 10 career starts at Land of Legends Raceway with a career-best result of seventh place.
“We usually do decent there,” he said. “It’s a track that’s close to home so I’m excited to go back there. Also, my brother is starting to race 305s so this will be the first time we’ll be racing sprint cars at the same track on the same night.”
The main goal for the weekend is to make the A Main each night and maximize laps on the track.
“Every time we run the 410 we’re learning more and more so it’s important that we soak up as much as we can,” he said. “We also want to have a good showing at Land of Legends Raceway. It’s more or less a home race for us so it will be fun to race in front of family and friends.”
