Coming into Saturday's finale at the South Dakota Sprint Car Nationals at Park Jefferson International Speedway, the Frontier Bank, Rosy's Raceland, Todd's Beer Cave, JRR #14 entry was slated to start on the outside of the 3rd row in the $10,000 to win feature event. After a strong qualifying night on Friday, Rosenboom was poised to have a stellar showing. That is, until warm ups when motor issues led the team to pull the back up car out of the trailer.
The 30 lap feature went quickly, with only one caution to slow the action. Throughout the feature, Jody jostled for position with Seth Brahmer, and Paul Nienhiser, before settling for 6th on the night. "We had some issues with the car running during hot laps, so we played it safe and pulled the back up car out. With that much on the line, we weren't going to be taking any chances. I'd have to say, I believe it paid off," said Rosenboom.
Meanwhile, Eric Lutz and Gregg Bakker were making a show of it as they navigated through lapped traffic the entire race. The track began to take rubber in the later stages of the race, so once Lutz took the lead, he wouldn't ever give it back up. Jack Dover came home in 3rd place, with Thomas Kennedy and Seth Brahmer rounding out the top 5
Up next, the JRR team will join the MSTS 360 Sprints at Rapid Speedway in Rock Rapids, Iowa on Friday May 4th, and will follow the series to Wagner, South Dakota on Saturday, May 5th.
