Eric Lutz took the biggest win of his sprint car career Saturday night with the $10,000 victory at Park Jefferson Speedway’s Pepsi South Dakota Sprint Car Nationals with the Property Solutions of America MSTS and Carpetland Nebraska 360 Sprint Series presented by Malvern Bank.
Gregg Bakker shot from his third starting position at the drop of the green flag of the 30-lap championship feature. Bakker would pace the field for 18 laps before Lutz charged hard to the leader’s outside entering turn three. The move would give the Jeremy Scadden Construction #6 the lead and he’d go to the win unchallenged from that point.
Bakker finished second ahead of Jack Dover. Thomas Kennedy took top qualifier honors in a double-heat race format run on Friday. The Canadian driver started on the pole of the main and crossed the line fourth ahead of Seth Brahmer.
Up next for MSTS, a Friday night date at Rapid Speedway in Rock Rapids, Iowa, followed by a Saturday night fight in Wagner, South Dakota, at Wagner Speedway.
