Inside Line Promotions – SPRINGFIELD, Neb. (April 25, 2018) – Jack Dover is aiming to score his first victory of the season and become the first-ever winner of a new event in the Midwest.
Dover will drive for Chris Bowers on Friday and Saturday at Park Jefferson International Speedway in Jefferson, S.D., during the $10,000-to-win South Dakota Sprint Car Nationals.
“We’ve won a lot of races there so we know how to get around that track,” Dover said. “There’s no key. If you set your car up right you can be successful. It’s normally pretty racy and you can go wherever you want. You do have to watch the track because it can change in a second.”
Dover has earned seven victories in his last 13 races at the oval, including multiple wins the last two years and at least one triumph for four straight seasons.
“It’d be awesome to win this,” he said. “Chris and I have run well together, but haven’t got a win yet so this weekend would be a great time for that.”
Dover opened the season last month by netting a pair of top 15s in Kansas while piloting the Bowers’ No. 81 sprint car.
“He purchased my car from last year this winter and he bought the same shocks I have,” Dover said. “It has a brand new motor with only four or five races on it. We should have a car that will contend for the win.”
