Inside Line Promotions – PEVELY, Mo. (April 24, 2018) – Brandon Hanks is racing in Kentucky and Tennessee this weekend.

Hanks will tackle the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour presented by SawBlade.com debut at Paducah International Raceway in Paducah, Ky., on Friday before venturing to Tennessee National Raceway in Hohenwald, Tenn., on Saturday for an ASCS Mid-South Region show.

“I’ve never been to Paducah and it’s probably been four or five years since I’ve raced in Hohenwald so it’ll be great to get back,” he said. “We’ve had good success in the 360 races this season so hopefully that continues and we can contend for a win or two.”

Hanks last competed at Tennessee National Raceway in September 2013 when he placed ninth in the A Main.

The team is coming off a frustrating outing last weekend during World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series competition. The action began on Friday at Riverside International Speedway in West Memphis, Ark., where Hanks qualified 31st quickest, placed eighth in a heat race and advanced from 11th to seventh place in the Last Chance Showdown.

“We had car problems,” he said. “Essentially we had suspension issues that we couldn’t find that night. We changed everything to try to get it to react. It was odd the way it was driving. We came home and took the car apart. We think the torque tube was hitting the yoke on the motor and keeping the car from squatting. It basically wouldn’t turn.”

Unfortunately, the team was unable to verify if that fixed the problem because of a mechanical problem the following night during hot laps at Federated Auto Parts Raceway at I-55.

“That was a real bummer to not be able to run to our potential in West Memphis and Pevely,” he said. “West Memphis is one of our home tracks and Pevely is one of my favorite tracks so I was really looking forward to that weekend. We’ll learn what we can from it and hopefully have better luck this weekend.”
