April 21, 2018, Bloomington, Indiana – In the second Friday night show at Bloomington Speedway, New Whiteland’s Jeff Wimmenauer led the way to victory lane. Sharing victory laurels were Modified wheelman Jacoby Hines, UMRA TQ winner Matthew Hedrick and Gage Clark in the Hornets.

In the winged RaceSaver sprint car feature, Wimmenauer found a sweet spot around the top of turns one and two midrace to grab the lead from John Paynter Jr. Although defending series champion Ryan Tusing followed Wimmenauer past Paynter, after hustling from eleventh starting position, he couldn’t catch the leader and took second. An early race incident took out several of the top runners including last week’s winner Ethan Barrow, and saw Andy Bradley tumble wildly over turn three. Chris Babcock had a strong run to earn third, followed by Justin Clark and Kendall Ruble. After falling off the pace, Paynter headed to the pits with a mechanical issue. Babcock, Paynter and Damon Fortune took the heat races.

Hines showed good muscle as he returned to victory form at Bloomington. Kent Robinson took second in the UMP modified main, and Jeff Deckard was third. Deckard and Hines captured heat race wins.

In the UMRA TQ midget feature, Hedrick scored a two-car length win over Tate Martz, after Martz raced back through the field after restarting the race from last place. Robbie Rolal ran third. Heat races were won by Rolal and Jason Setser.

Hornet winner Clark outran Tom Houston and AJ Hobbs in the 20 lap finale. Houston and Chad Taylor won heat races.

The next event at Bloomington Speedway will be the AMSOIL USAC National Sprint Car Series on Friday, April 27th. The Green Earth Recycling and Composting RaceSaver Sprint Cars and super stocks will also be in action.
