Inside Line Promotions – ATTICA, Ohio (April 19, 2018) – Chris Andrews picked right back up where he left off in 2017 when he was a consistent top-10 finisher.

Andrews opened his 410ci winged sprint car season last Friday at Attica Raceway Park, where he was division champion in 2017, by recording a solid seventh-place finish.

“It was the first race of the season and we were getting everything sorted out,” he said. “We need more races, but we finished the year strong last season, making up a lot of ground setup wise, and it has transferred to this year.”

Andrews was fifth quickest overall out of 45 cars in qualifying and third fastest in his heat race grouping. He started third in the Burmeister Racing machine and finished third in his heat race to advance into the fifth starting position in the A Main.

“With a field like that it’s important to transfer through your heat if you’re going to stand a chance and the car was pretty damn good,” he said. “I ran consistently fourth and fifth throughout the feature, but jumped the cushion once and lost a couple of spots to finish seventh. All and all, it was a pretty good first night.”

Andrews will return to Attica Raceway Park this Friday to battle the Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions before he kicks off the All Pro Aluminum Cylinder Heads FAST 410 Championship Series on Saturday at Fremont Speedway in Fremont, Ohio. He is a two-time and defending division champion at Attica Raceway Park and he finished second in the FAST championship standings in 2017.

“The Burmeister family has won the FAST championship and I’ve finished second and third a couple of times so I really want to get that title this year,” Andrews said. “They have spent a lot of money and deserve another FAST championship. We just have to finish consistent and turn seconds and thirds into wins and not have any DNFs. We need to get the car better earlier in the season.”
