Inside Line Promotions – PORT ROYAL, Pa. (April 18, 2018) – Trey Starks progressed throughout a pair of Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions races in Central Pennsylvania last weekend.
The Gobrecht Motorsports pilot opened the weekend on Friday at Williams Grove Speedway in Mechanicsburg, where he timed in second quickest in his group, placed fifth in a heat race and won the B Main to transfer into the back of the main event.
“I got a bad start and lost a few spots so I had to get those back plus the additional ones we got,” he said. “We ran really good laps in the A Main and we had good speed.”
Starks officially picked up a half-dozen positions in the main event to end 15th.
The team continued to improve on Saturday at Port Royal Speedway, where Starks qualified fourth quickest in his group before he won a heat race to make a dash. A fourth-place result in a dash lined him up on the inside of the fourth row for the A Main.
“We made some changes for the feature and were rolling really good,” he said. “I was running really hard against the wall. I guess I hit it one too many times and we got a flat right rear. It also broke the Jacob’s Ladder so we didn’t get back out.
“We had nice speed at both places. I think we’re getting things figured out so I’m looking forward to the weeks to come.”
Last Sunday’s event at Bedford Speedway in Bedford, Pa., rained out.
Starks will compete in both the 410ci and 360ci winged sprint car classes on Saturday at Port Royal Speedway before wrapping up the weekend on Sunday at Selinsgrove Speedway in Selinsgrove, Pa.
