Kyle Cummins and Ethan Barrow Open Bloomington Speedway Season With Huge Wins

April 14, 2018, Bloomington, Indiana – Kyle Cummings and Ethan Barrow let a quartet of hard chargers to victory lane on Friday night, as Bloomington Speedway raised the curtain on its 2018 season. While Cummins captured the non-wing sprint car feature, Barrow was victorious in the RaceSaver sprints, Tyler Nicely claimed the modified main event, and Jason Hehman won the super stock finale.

Wheeling the familiar family 3c machine, Cummins allowed that restarts were key to the victory, as he hustled to the front with each green flag. Jordan Kinser was runner-up for the Hurst Brothers after starting fourth, with Californian Joe Stornetta Jr. claiming third in his first ride in the Burton 04. Casey Shuman took fourth, ahead of Jeff Bland Jr. Heat races were won by Travis Berryhill, Stornetta and Cummins.

In the RaceSaver 305 main event, Barrow outran defending series champion Ryan Tusing in a tight scrap to earn the victory. Andy Bradley raced to third after starting 12th, with Brandon Long and Jordan Kinser completing the top five. Barrow, Tusing and Damon Fortune were victorious in the heats.

Visiting Bloomington from Owensboro, KY, Tyler Nicely was victorious over veteran Jacoby Hines, Ryan Thomas, Steven Brooks and John Clippinger in the UMP Modifieds. Nicely, Hines and Josh Boller claimed heat race wins, while Tyler Loughmiller won the B-Main. Racing from eighth starting slot, Jason Hehman took the super stock main event, with Josh Divine, Wes McClara, Jack Frye and Colton Sullivan filling the top-5. Jaden Mayhan and McClara were heat race winners.

The next event at Bloomington Speedway will be the Race Against Childhood Cancer Night on Friday, April 20th, and is also our first HARF Night. The racing card features the Green Earth Recycling and Composting RaceSaver Sprint Cars, A.J. Bowlen Realtor with Re/MAX Acclaimed Properties Modifieds, UMRA TQ Midgets and Hornets.
