Dollansky Conquers Cedar Lake!
After a late night of racing in eastern Wisconsin on Saturday was pushed back by heavy rain showers, Craig Dollansky and the World of Outlaws were back in action just sixteen hours later on Sunday night in western Wisconsin at Cedar Lake Speedway with Mother Nature once again trying to steal the show.
A small field of 22 cars assembled to do battle at the high-banked 3/8-mile after slight rain showers delayed the start of the event. A very fast track in qualifying saw Dollansky post the 7th fastest time of the night with a time of 11.091 seconds. Because of the twelve car inversion for heat race competition, Dollansky started outside the front row of heat race one. 'The Crowd Pleaser' was able to get a good jump on the field and lead Jac Haudenschild into turn one and pull away from the field for the heat race win. Luck was on Dollansky's side for the dash inversion as the 6 pill was drawn meaning the Big Game Treestands #7 would start second for the dash. Dollansky held the second position throughout the 8-lap dash affair which set up another outside front row starting position, this time for the feature.
As the green flag flew for the start of the 30-lap A-Main, Dollansky piloted the Aggressive Hydraulics sponsored sprinter to the highside of the track and out to the early lead. In the early stages of the feature the driver out of Elk River, MN used strong double-file restarts to hold off a charge from teammate Sammy Swindell in the Big Game Treestands #1. As the race wore on Dollansky continued to set a fast pace around the bullring track. After enduring a late charge from Jason Meyers, 'The Crowd Pleaser' powered around the highside of the track and used lapped traffic to his advantage in the remaining laps and took the checkered flags aboard the Karavan Trailers Maxim. "It was a strong night all the way through, when you get a good starting point you have to capitalize on that, fortunately we were able to do that. Cedar Lake is about as close to home as you can get so it was cool. We had alot of friends and family here along with Tod Quiring from Big Game Treestands and Paul Johnson from Aggressive Hydraulics so it was fun to enjoy the victory with them all", said Dollansky whose win was the second of the year with the Outlaws.
Following the victory and strong weekend in 'The Badger State', Dollansky and the Big Game Treestands team open up the 'Month of Money' with the World of Outlaws starting Wednesday with the Brad Doty Classic at Limaland Motorsports Park in Ohio.
