Inside Line Promotions – WINDOM, Minn. (April 9, 2018) – Fingers are crossed in the Big Game Motorsports camp that Mother Nature will play nice this weekend.
The Muddy backed team and driver Kerry Madsen are planning on competing this Saturday at Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa, during the 65th annual Season Opener.
“It’s been a few weeks since we’ve raced so we’re all ready to get back to the track,” Madsen said. “We had great speed at Knoxville Raceway last season and I anticipate we’ll be just as fast this year.”
While Madsen is seeking his first career win during the track’s season opener, he has 19 career triumphs at the half-mile oval. He also captured the 2005 track championship.
“I have a lot of laps around Knoxville, which is beneficial because it can be a tricky track to learn,” he said. “We have the speed so at that point it’s about putting it all together and having luck on your side.”
Madsen set quick time during qualifying six times at Knoxville Raceway last season. In fact, he timed in within the top three positions an astounding 10 times in 11 races while attempting time trials.
Additionally, Madsen finished second in the A Main five times. He placed in the top five during nine races, including the Knoxville Nationals. One DNF marked the lone A Main start in 12 races that he didn’t finish in the top seven positions.
