Inside Line Promotions – WINDOM, Minn. (April 5, 2018) – Big Game Motorsports and driver Kerry Madsen have six crown jewel sprint car races circled on this season’s calendar.
“I think you handle it like a normal show, but the reality is everything is based around the bigger shows,” Madsen said. “The engine program, your car development, everything. For me as a driver the pressure is the same.”
It begins on April 27-28 at the $100,000-to-win Sprint Car World Championship hosted by Mansfield Motor Speedway in Mansfield, Ohio. That event will be Madsen’s first time at the track.
The $40,000-to-win AGCO Jackson Nationals at Jackson Motorplex in Jackson, Minn., from June 7-9 will mark the first of four mega World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series shows for the Muddy sponsored team.
The three-day Kings Royal, which pays $50,000 to win, is July 12-14 at Eldora Speedway near Rossburg, Ohio. Madsen claimed the top prize in 2014.
Arguably the biggest event of the season is the following month when Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa, showcases the $150,000-to-win Knoxville Nationals. Madsen has earned a podium finish during the event in three of the last four years.
Port Royal Speedway in Port Royal, Pa., hosts the $51,000-to-win Tuscarora 50 on Sept. 7-8 followed by the $56,000-to-win Champion Racing Oil National Open at Williams Grove Speedway in Mechanicsburg, Pa., on Sept. 28-29.
“These races have the toughest competition so it means something much more than a good payday when you do well,” Madsen said. “We work hard all year to make sure we put ourselves in the best possible situation going into each one of these races.”
The Muddy backed team is scheduled to tackle the 65th annual Season Opener at Knoxville Raceway on April 14.
