Inside Line Promotions – PARK CITY, Kan. (April 3, 2018) – Harli White will have an extra set of hands this weekend during the Tony Stewart Presents the Vankor Texas Sprint Car Nationals.

Mach 1 Chassis Owner Mark Smith is flying to the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour presented by SawBlade.com event at Texas Motor Speedway in Fort Worth, Texas, to assist one of his newest clients on Friday and Saturday.

“We’re excited to have Mark helping us out and hopefully he can steer us in the right direction,” White said. “We made the switch to his chassis recently and he will help us with setups all weekend.”

White posted a career-best result of sixth place at the track in 2016.

“A lot of people show up to the event,” she said. “The first goal is to get through the heat race. We want to lock in through the heat race both nights and go from there.”

She is coming off a frustrating outing last weekend during the 8th annual Park City Cup/Air Capital Shootout with the NCRA Series at 81 Speedway.

White placed fourth and 10th, respectively, in twin heat races on Friday. That missed a spot in the A Main and the series didn’t run a B Main that night.

She opened Saturday’s finale by advancing from fourth to third place in a heat race. That lined her up on the pole of a B Main.

“I got a good start, but wasn’t quite sure where the rubber was going to be at,” she said. “Going into three and four I moved up too much and got out of the rubber and ended up spinning.”

White was forced to restart at the back of the field and she was involved in a crash on the restart that ended the event early.

“It was just not our weekend,” she said. “The car didn’t feel good and nothing seemed to go right. You’ll have that in racing from time to time. Hopefully that will all turn around this weekend at Texas Motor Speedway.”
