Inside Line Promotions – SANDUSKY, Ohio (March 21, 2018) – Though the 2017 season ended with a 410ci sprint car championship for Chris Andrews, it came without any feature wins. He is focused on changing that part of the equation in 2018.
Andrews won his second track title at Attica Raceway Park in Attica, Ohio, last year and he finished second in the All Pro Aluminum Heads FAST 410 Championship Series presented by Ohio Logistics.
“Yeah, we won a championship, but there were no wins so it didn’t feel like that good of a year,” he said. “It shows we were very consistent and what that means, but ultimately we do what we do to win races and that’s the focus for this year.”
Andrews said the team has built new cars and the engines have been freshened.
“We struggled most of the year and the last month we made a lot of changes to the chassis program,” he said. “We were really good and we had some very encouraging results the last three races so I’m excited to get this year kicked off on the right foot.”
Andrews said the Burmeister team will vie for another championship at Attica Raceway Park as well as the FAST title in 2018. He noted the team will compete at Fremont Speedway in Fremont, Ohio, a lot as well, but may venture out on the road on some Saturdays.
“There are a lot of good paying shows in the area this year and we want to try to make as many of them as we can,” he said. “We will be at the Sprint Car World Championship at Mansfield Motor Speedway (in Mansfield, Ohio) in April.”
The season-opening race for Andrews is slated for March 30 at Attica Raceway Park.
