Inside Line Promotions – STOCKTON, Calif. (March 20, 2018) – Greg Wilson will make his second career visit to a pair of California bullrings this weekend.
Wilson and his Hercules Tires, DNC Hydraulics, Ohio Logistics and Gear Alloy Wheels backed team are scheduled to race on Friday at Ocean Speedway in Watsonville during the Ocean Outlaw Showdown and on Saturday at Bakersfield Speedway in Bakersfield with the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series.
“It will be great to get back to those two tracks for the first time in a couple of years,” he said. “These are also the final two races in California during the spring swing so I’m looking forward to wrapping it up with a couple of good results.”
Wilson made his debut at both tracks in 2016.
“You usually see a big difference between the first and second time you race a track because of your learning curve,” he said. “The first time there you try to compare the track to somewhere else you’ve raced to determine a setup. The second time you have some notes to work off and then you’re just fine-tuning it.”
Wilson was able to race once last weekend as rain hampered the FVP Platinum Battery Western Spring Shootout at Stockton Dirt Track, cancelling Friday’s show and making for a tricky track on Saturday.
“Great job by the World of Outlaws and Stockton for working hard to get a race in,” he said. “It wasn’t the best circumstances for everyone, but I know we all appreciated the effort to get a show in.”
Wilson made progress all night, moving forward in the heat race, C Main and Last Chance Showdown.
“The track got a little more treacherous as the night went on,” he said. “We wanted to race smart and not do anything that would tear up a race car. We progressed throughout the night and loaded up in one piece so it was a positive night.”
