Inside Line Promotions – LOCK HAVEN, Pa. (March 20, 2018) – X-1 Race Cars is hoping to start off the 2018 season with the same momentum it ended with in 2017.
“We’ve been building a lot more cars over the winter,” X-1 Race Cars Founder Ryan Linder said. “A lot more than I had originally expected to be truthful, which I can’t say is a bad thing.”
Since Linder has started the business it has continued to grow each year. So much so that he moved across the country in pursuit of building more cars and gaining more clients.
“One thing that has helped the business so much is the people who are helping me get the name out there,” he said. “The great results we’ve been getting from people running our cars has also helped a bunch.”
Last year, X-1 Race Cars fielded a WAR Series champion, Wes Wofford, and an Empire Super Sprints champion, Jason Barney. Ryan Smith also finished second in points with the Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions. Additionally, X-1 Race Cars recorded wins in all three winged sprint car divisions – 410ci, 360ci and 305ci.
“A majority of the guys who ran my cars last year won A Mains,” Linder said. “The product is really starting to prove itself and this coming year we’ve added quite a few new guys in all divisions.”
Linder will have people running X-1 Race Cars in Pennsylvania, New York, New Hampshire and more states with the addition of solid drivers to the roster.
“I’m definitely flat out right now,” he said. “We’re starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel. All things are going in the right direction.”
X-1 Race Cars isn’t the only thing keeping Linder busy. He still builds custom headers and recently went back to Arizona, where he used to live, to help out some clients, which included Shannon Campbell and Campbell Enterprises.
“Shannon is one of the bigger names in off-road racing,” Linder said. “I like to take a break from the sprint cars and build headers. It breaks up the monotony and you can be a bit more creative.”
Linder also plans to race sprint cars some this year, mostly sticking to Port Royal Speedway in Port Royal, Pa.
“I just don’t have as much spare time with how busy I’ve been working on building cars,” he said. “We’ll race probably once a week and that will be good for us for a while.”
