ASCS Northwest at Cottage Grove for Fourth of July Weekend!

Stacy Verrall, TULSA, Okla. (June 28, 2010) - There’s going to be fireworks on land and in the air this weekend as the ASCS Northwest winged sprint cars rocket around the fastest ¼-mile dirt track in the northwest at Oregon’s Cottage Grove Speedway this Saturday and Sunday, July 3rd and 4th.

Current ASCS Northwest points leader Roger Crockett will be battling for the victory on his home turf against some of the best Sprint Car racers the west coast has to offer. With Jason Solwold trailing by merely 7 points in the point standings and former ASCS Northwest champion Jayme Barnes propelled into the weekend off an impressive podium finish at Dirt Cup, it’s going to be anything but easy for Crockett to maintain his spot as king of the Cottage Grove Hill.

Throw into the mix several west coast series and track champions with enough talent to score the top prize, and you have yourself an exciting 4th of July weekend battle with an ending that has yet to be written. Be there to watch it unfold!

And to add to the weekend’s excitement, there’ll be a $5,000 mid-season point fund sponsored by Jack Dilley Logging which will be distributed among the top five in accumulated points from the July 3rd and 4th races at Cottage Grove and all five races of the ASCS Northwest’s Super Summer Sizzlin’ Speedweek. Hot, hot, hot! Does it get any hotter than a summer evening with stunning fireworks, great friends, action-packed racing, cold beverages and extra cash on the line? I didn’t think so.
