Moving up from his successful run in the USAC25 National Tour - which included a National Championship; 4 national feature wins; multiple national podium finishes and many regional feature wins - Elvis Rankin will be competing in 2018 in the USAC Western Midget series. Based in Central California, the series includes both pavement and dirt track races in a full size midget with a spec motor. The series is a main stay at the Madera Raceway in Madera California where nine of the series pavement races will be competed. The pavement series will also include races at the Stockton 99 Speedway, the Bullring at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, and two national dates at Highland Rim Speedway in Greenbrier Tennessee. The dirt track series will include dates at Kern County Raceway, Santa Maria Speedway, and the iconic Ventura County Fairgrounds.

The season opens on March 17 at Madera and will run through late October.

Running the #54 car, Elvis Rankin will be racing under the direction of crew chief John Lomier - an experienced midget crew chief with proven results.

Elvis noted “I am really excited to start this next phase of my racing career and had a great time my first time in the midget. I want to thank everyone who has supported me to get to this point - and look forward to continuing my current partnerships and creating new partnerships as we move into these bigger race cars and a new level of competition.”
