26 Promotions – Peoria, AZ – (March 6, 2018) – After making his Micro Sprint debut last weekend in the non-wing car, Keelan Matthews strapped on the wings for the first time in his young career.
“I wasn’t sure what to expect with the wing on for this race, but the car handled better than last week,” Matthews explained. “We started on the pole for our heat, and I was having a hard time finding my line and ended up in seventh.”
The heat result placed Matthews thirteenth for the start of the feature.
“We made some shock and air pressure adjustments for the main,” he said. “We were able to stay out of trouble and pull off a ninth-place finish. Overall, we had a good night; now we’ll go back to the shop and see if we can get a little more speed out of the car as we look forward to Casa Grande.”
Matthews now has two top ten finishes in his first two micro races to start 2018.
Matthews returns to action on March 24th at Central Arizona Speedway with the Power 600 Series Wing Micro Sprints.
Keelan Matthews would like to thank his Mom and Dad, Lucas Oil, Protect the Harvest, and PS Electric for their continued support.
