26 Promotions – Peoria, AZ –(February 27, 2018) – After a two-month break following the Tulsa Shootout, Dale Eliason Jr was ready to get the Power 600 Series season underway in the 04j Micro Sprint.

“It’s been a while since being in the seat at Canyon, so I didn’t really know what to expect from the track,” said Eliason Jr. “I started on the pole in the first heat, and the track was still really greasy, so I just stood my line at the bottom and got passed on the start but gained it back the next corner.”

Eliason Jr’s heat race win earned him enough points to make the six car feature invert placing him on the inside of the third row for the start of the feature.

“I was up to fourth the first lap and ran all the way on the bottom of the track in the corner. The car in front of me got a little sideways coming out of the corner, and I had nowhere to go and ended up tapping him, spinning him around,” explained the Iceman. “With about seven to go the car in second slid up in the corner, so I stuck my nose in and pulled him on the straightaway. With five to go, I tried all I could to gain the lead when I knew I had the fastest car. I didn’t want to take him out and win like that, so we settled for second.”

Eliason Jr returns to action on Saturday for the first wing race of the Power 600 Season at Canyon Speedway Park.

Eliason Jr would like to thank Affordable Powder Coating, Copper State Bolt & Nut, Custom Caretaking Plus INC, DOLCRX, Guhl Motors, HJ Tile, Industrial Machinery Services, PMP Chassis, Seros Racing Engines, and T & K Repair for their support.
