McKenzie Bridge, Oregon- Last year A.J. Harbaugh made a major transition for competing in Kage Karts to Micro Sprints. Hailing from beautiful McKenzie Bridge, Oregon the 12-year-old ace will once again be competing in the Micro scene in his Yeti Snacks/Brian Osterman Wings/Automotive Sheetmetal #18H PMP entry.
In 2015, after just 3 starts in a Micro Sprint, A.J. was able to pick up a main event victory in the 600cc Restricted division. Overall he managed to post 3 Top 5s and 4 Top 10s in just 12 starts throughout the course of the year.
“I am looking forward to the 2016 racing season and getting my PMP into the winner’s circle for my sponsors,” commented Harbaugh, “this is a group effort as none of this would be possible if it wasn't for my parents! My Dad works hard to give me the best car to drive every race, and I would not be successful without him!”
2016 will be a very busy season as the youngster will be making several trips to California for the upcoming campaign. Harbaugh kicks off his year at Delta Speedway, in Stockton, on March 17th and will remain down there for several shows until the weather gets a little better in his native Pacific Northwest. The 17th date will be extremely special because several World of Outlaw Sprint Car drivers will be in attendance. Once the weather does improve he will regularly visit Deming Speedway in Northwest Washington.
Other California tracks that A.J. will go to include Lemoore Raceway and Visalia’s Keller Auto Raceway at Plaza Park. He will participate in the California Speedweek, from July 5th through the 9th, before heading up to Deming on the 14th to the 16th for their annual Clay Cup.
