The first weekend of July was going to be an off weekend for the Great Lakes Super Sprints! But after a few conversations with Beckley Motorsports Park representatives, it was decided to put together a Saturday night race on July 7th in the heart of West Virgina!
One of the goals of GLSS owner Barry Marlow was to travel once a year to a new area and offer a fun weekend for our teams and their families. This opportunity to travel to West Virginia and race the historic Beckley Motorsports Park, meet some new friends and have an enjoyable weekend in the middle of our season would fulfill that goal!
Ironically one of our members, Marshall Campbell, is from Beckley and he won a feature at the 3/8th mile track in 1999. Beckley Motorsports Park had new North Carolina clay laid down last year and it promises to be a great surface to put winged sprints on!!!
We’re excited to partner with Beckley Motorsports Park on July 7th to be part of their big July 4th Celebration! There will be more information about the race in the coming month.
