Inside Line Promotions – DELPHOS, Ohio (Nov. 30, 2017) – Shawn Dancer is pleased with the course of the 2017 season. While the beginning of the year started off slower than expected, things picked up for the better as time went on.

“Once we brought Kent Karhoff onto the team I was able to step back and let him do what he needed to do,” Dancer said. “I just focused on driving and that’s when we were able to start putting things together.”

Everything clicked much easier toward the end of the season and the team hopes to carry that momentum into next season as Karhoff plans to be with Dancer again in 2018.

“The car got a lot better during the season,” Dancer said. “Now we’re just focusing on the little things and picking up some more speed.”

This season brought new challenges to Dancer as he focused on 410ci winged sprint car races more than previous years.

“The competition was tougher this year,” he said. “That doesn’t reflect the greatest on our stats for the season, but it helped us learn a lot.”

Dancer plans to continue with an open schedule next season. He will pick and choose which races he wants to run and focus more on 410 races, including World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series and Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions shows when they’re in his region.

“I would say that our highlight of the season was that we were able to relax and have some fun this year instead of focusing on points,” he said. “Vegas was definitely a fun part of the season. We had a great time out there and it was an awesome experience.”

One gripe Dancer has with this season was how many wins he let slip away.

“It’s a shame how many wins we let go,” he said. “The car and equipment was great, but they were personal errors so I’ll have to work on that.”

Overall, Dancer said he is happy with how the season went and will be working hard in the offseason to make sure he’s ready for next year.

“I can’t thank everyone enough for helping out this past season,” he said. “From sponsors to crew guys, I couldn’t have done it without them.”
