26 Promotions – Peoria, AZ – (November 28th, 2017) – The Power 600 Series season concluded this weekend with two nights of racing at Canyon Speedway Park, Dale Eliason Jr looked to cap off his sophomore Micro Sprint season with two solid runs to secure the third position in the standings.
Eliason Jr’s night kicked off with heat race action, where he finished fifth from seventh, placing him mid-pack for the start of the feature.
“We started ninth and got spun out on the first lap and had to go to the back,” Eliason Jr explained. “We were able to make our way back through the field and we were running eighth when the wheel of another car came off in front of me, causing me to have to slow down and fall back to tenth.”
After his tenth-place finish on Friday night, Eliason Jr entered Saturday’s finale determined to end the season on a high note.
For the second night in a row, Eliason Jr started seventh in his heat, but this time he made the moves necessary to drive up to a third-place finish making him the night’s top point earner.
“As the top qualifier from the heats, I started sixth in the main. Within the first five laps I was into third,” he said. “I followed the second-place car as he made the pass for the lead, which put me into second with two laps to go. I did everything I could, but couldn’t push the car enough to get passed him.”
Eliason Jr crossed the finish line second as the checker flags waved, securing his third-place finish in the Power 600 Series standings.
Next up for Eliason Jr is the 33rd Annual Tulsa Shootout where he will be running in the Restricted A-Class, Winged A-Class, and Stock Non-Wing divisions.
