Jamie Ball- Getting Better

(White Lightning Motorsports) – May 22, 2010 –

This weekend would go well for the Delta Oil #5J. First off on Friday I would race my 305 sprint car at Jackson Speedway in Jackson, MN.I would only run my 360 sprint car this weekend. So it would be an easier weekend with less work to do by only having one car.

At Jackson Speedway I would start off slow and then gradually get faster as the night went on. I started the heat race in 5th place and would go on to run a close 6th place. After the heat race I was scheduled to start in 12th position. About 5 laps into the race I would be passing for 7th place going into turn 1. Upon the exit of turn 2 myself and another car collided sending him into a series of flips and sending myself into a series of bounces ending with my car lying on its side. The good thing is that the wings were all fine all it damaged was some shocks, bars and radius rods. Overall this race went well and I was racing and moving forward before the accident so myself and the team was very happy.

Night number four at Knoxville Raceway would start out with drawing a #42 pill to line up 360 time trials/hot laps. This week the track decided to keep the group time trials but to do them in conjunction with the 360 hot laps. I would go out in the last group and time 23rd quick. I would line up in 8th position and would go on to finish 8th. The next event would be the 360 B-Main where the Delta Oil #5J would be scheduled to line up in 9th position. I would maintain my position and finish 9th right behind last week’s winner Josh Higday #10. This week was a good time to focus on the 360 car. I was able to spend more time watching the other races and watching the track change throughout the night. I am ready for next week to see if I can put this 360 car in the show.

A few more notes about the team:

White Lightning Motorsports has decided to have one of the best sprint car drivers in Knoxville Raceways history drive the Delta Oil #5J in the Masters Classic. That driver will be Randy Smith. Randy won the event two years ago and we are very confident in his abilities. The Masters Classic will be on Friday June 4, 2010.
I am ready for this weekend. This Thursday I will race with the ASCS-Midwest series at I-80 Speedway in Greenwood, NE. Then on Friday I will race at English Creek Speedway in my outlaw dirt kart. Finally to end the weekend I will race both my 305 and 360 at Knoxville Raceway on Pella Corp Night.
