Inside Line Promotions – PUYALLUP, Wash. (Oct. 30, 2017) – Trey Starks and the Gobrecht Motorsports team will tackle the Textron Off Road World Finals this Thursday through Saturday at The Dirt Track at Charlotte in Concord, N.C.
“It’s a special event to me and a special track to go to,” Starks said. “That’s where Jeff McCall and I originated and started racing together at the end of 2015. We almost won a prelim night.”
Starks won the dash and he led the first 12 laps of the 25-lap A Main during the 2015 preliminary night of the World Finals before a tie rod broke midway through the race.
“This is a race I feel got away from me,” he said. “I’ve got a chip on my shoulder when I go to Charlotte.”
His best World of Outlaws result at the track was a 13th-place finish in the spring of 2016 and he placed 17th at the oval earlier this year.
Starks captured a 360ci winged sprint car triumph at the track in October 2016 when he set quick time, won a heat race, claimed the scramble and dominated the A Main during the USCS Series portion of the World Short Track Championships.
“We won a 360 race there last year, which was awesome,” he said. “It’d be really cool to win a 410 race. The World Finals is a huge race and to win on that stage would be great for our team.”
The team’s best result with the World of Outlaws this season is a 13th-place finish, which has happened three times.
