The morning of the final POWRi Lonestar 600's presented by K&K Earthwork the drivers awake to something unseen for 9 months. Frost on the ground. Chill in the air. Facing a cold and windy day at the races. 36 Non Wing 600's and 13 Restrictor's check into the Halloween Havoc at Gator Motorplex. Championships are on the line. Calculators are out trying to figure out points battles. It finally sinks in. This is the last chance for the season to let it all out.
600's up first. Sunglasses inside most helmets. The afternoon sun becomes brutal on the drivers. Heat races underway. During heat race #4 Isaiah Garcia climbs the back wall. Sending him to the perfect formation of bicycle flips. The chassis clinks off the top of fence all the way to the half way point. And he finally lands. The POWRi Lonestar 600's Ultrashield rush to the scene. There as he makes landfall. They, amongst the track's EMT check him out. Slow to get out , driver checks out okay. Driver and car return to pits for the conclusion of Garcia's race day. Heat race winners for the day are Jacob Lucas, Blake Moeller, Tanner Dunlap, Christopher Larson, and Colton Corbin. With all the passing, slicing, and dicing from the heats. Two B-Mains set up for top 4 out of each to find a spot in the $1,000 to win A-main. Top 16 in passing points lock into the A-Main.
Next out are the always exciting, Restrictors. Your heat race winners are Caleb Rouser and Dylan Pendergrass. These young kids show off some good heat race passes. As they know top 4 tonight get to redraw for the chance of sitting on the pole.
The air horn sounds. Drivers make the final push to set that car up perfectly. Two B-Mains hit the track. Top 4 from each transfer. First B-Main transfer cars are Karter Battarbee, Karson Battarbee, Trey Burke, & Preston Perlmutter. B-Main #2 transfer cars are Bash Ferguson, Kevin Battarbee, Mike Walling, Chuck Dunlap. The A-main is officially locked down and ready!
The waiting begins while the remainder of the track's classes conclude B-mains. The POWRi Lonestar officials move line ups to the old white board. The Astros vs. Dodgers World Series games airs for all to enjoy! Hot cocoa and coffee flies out of the official trailer to keep everyone warm and smiling!
It's go time! 600's suit up and strap in. Jacob Harris and Blake Moeller take em' to the green. Drivers make it all the way around until turn 4.
One car begins to spin. And hello, clean up on isle 4. 7 cars pile up. All are able to return to play. Green is back out. Moeller takes the lead. Lucas is on the prawl. Graham Bowlin holding it down, debuting from his first ever redraw & A-main, in third. Few laps in and caution airs for a spinning Chuck Dunlap at the top of turn 2. Lucas catches Moeller. The cat and mouse game begins. Beautiful slide jobs take place. Lucas prevails and takes off. All the while Caleb Martin is on the move from starting 8th. Martin attempts to track him down. They enter lap traffic. Lucas leads. Down the back stretch, they split a lap car. 3 wide. Lucas comes out on top. Checkers fly and Lucas parks his #57 machine in victory lane! Taking home a $1,000 check and kisses his gator head trophy!
Patiently waiting, Restrictors let's roll out! Caleb Rouser and Dylan Pendergrass lead the 13 car field to the green. Rouser takes off with it. Pendergrass follows closely. Jarrett Hjorth is moving. The race is going green to checkered. Hjorth finds the line and passes for the lead. Pendergrass follows behind to keep second. Rouser, third. Hjorth parks his #58H in victory lane. Collects his $200 prize and runs with his gator head trophy!
