Inside Line Promotions – ROSSBURG, Ohio (Oct. 17, 2017) – Rob Chaney capped his season with CH Motorsports with a solid fourth-place finish Saturday night with the Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions at Eldora Speedway.

Chaney got off to a good start for the evening when he timed in sixth quickest out of 36 cars – second best in his group – followed by a second-place run in his heat race after starting third.

“Our qualifying time gave us a good chance to be in the dash, either by time or by finishing in the top two in our heat,” he said. “Our second-place finish in the heat put us in the dash, which is a big deal since it puts us in the first five rows of the feature. We were lucky enough to run third in our dash so we started sixth in the feature.”

The night’s main event ran caution-free and Chaney was able to pick up a couple more positions during its run.

“We kind of maintained early and got going pretty good on the bottom in turns three and four where I don’t think anybody else was running,” he said. “I was able to get by a couple of guys. There were no restarts. It was a pretty clean night all around.”

The fourth-place finish was the team’s sixth top five of the season.

It was a nice return to Eldora Speedway for Chaney, who hasn’t had much opportunity to race there in the last several years.

“I always really like racing Eldora,” he said. “The track has changed quite a bit the last several years. It’s taken me a little bit to adapt to the differences, but that’s the same for everyone.

“I think I’ve only run one or two races at Eldora in the last three years. Given that, I felt we had a good night. I wasn’t mistake-free in the feature, but I didn’t make any mistakes that cost me spots on the track. All in all, I think it was a good night.”
