Dupo, IL (October 1, 2017) After suffering some potential powerplant issues a few weeks back at Jacksonville Raceway, Kyle Schuett and his Schuett Racing team looked forward to returning to the race track this past Friday night for the POWRi Midget League, Knepper Memorial. With Mother Nature winning all the other scheduled POWRi events at Belle-Clair Speedway so far in 2017, this past weekend marked the first event of the season at “Little Belleville” for both Kyle and the remainder of the POWRi midget racers. In typical Belleville fashion, forty-two of the Midwest’s best midget racers signed in to do battle Friday night.

Starting the evening in heat race action, Kyle lined up fourth in the first of six midget heat races. As the race went green, Kyle battled for a few laps with former POWRi Champion, Brad Loyet, before clearing Loyet and pulling away. By the end of the short heat race, Kyle advanced from fourth to a third-place finish. By moving forward, Kyle was able to earn enough passing points to lock-in to the night’s 30-lap Knepper Memorial A-main. Lining up 15th, Kyle avoided early race chaos, but wasn’t able to get the feel he needed in order to move forward. By the end of the race, Kyle was credited with an 18th place finish.

Kyle and his family had to miss Saturday’s portion of the doubleheader at Belle-Clair Speedway due to an important family event. Up next for the Schuett Racing, Health Alliance sponsored #9K will be a return to Jacksonville Speedway on Friday and Saturday, October 13th and 14th. Jacksonville was the host of Kyle’s first midget podium finish just a few years back during a stacked POWRi Speed Week event. Kyle will be returning to Jacksonville and looking for another great finish.

Kyle and the entire Schuett Racing team would like to thank all their friends, fans, and sponsors that make going racing each weekend possible.
