GRAIN VALLEY, Mo. (September 30, 2017) - Chad Winfrey scored his first POWRi Lucas Oil Allstar Midget League win Saturday night at Valley Speedway in Grain Valley, Missouri. Two-time champion Pat Schudy was second over, Morgan Frewaldt, Merril Lamb, and Don Dawson II rounded out the top five.
Winfrey has been close to a victory all season long with three runner-up finishes already under his belt in 2017 running his first full season in midgets. Point leader Dustin Gilbert bent a valve before the races began ending his night early. Second-place running in points Luke Howard spun in the feature on the first lap after winning the heat race and a fellow competitor had nowhere to go resulting in contact eliminating both from the remainder of the race.
The POWRi Lucas Oil Allstar Midget League returns to Valley Speedway in Grain Valley, Missouri October 14 and October 28 to finish off the 2017 season.
