FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE | September 20, 2017

TURN 3 MEDIA ACQUIRES SPRINT CAR & MIDGET MAGAZINE
The leading Sprint Car publication will carry on in print, with expansion planned into digital, video and television.

Doug Auld, former publisher of Sprint Car & Midget Magazine, announced that the publication and the associated assets have been sold to Turn 3 Media, LLC, effective today.

Turn 3 Media, whose portfolio consists of the venerable SPEED SPORT Magazine, multiple digital platforms, and the award winning Suzuki Presents SPEED SPORT television program on MAVTV, will seek to expand Sprint Car & Midget Magazine into the digital space with an all-new sprintcarandmidget.com website, active social media, and video productions, while continuing to serve the traditional print subscribers and advertisers.

Mr. Auld will stay on with the magazine to assist with the transition and provide consultative and editorial services to Turn 3 Media.

“I am really excited about the future of Sprint Car & Midget under the banner of Turn 3 Media,” said Auld. “Joe and his guys have expressed some exciting ideas to expand upon what we’ve done to date with the magazine, while continuing on so much of what our readers have told us they’ve loved since we first launched in 2002. Going forward, I don’t think SC&M could be in better hands.”

“We are humbled and thrilled at the opportunity to carry on the great work that Doug and his team of award-winning journalists and photographers have built over these past 16 years,” said Joe Tripp, Turn 3 Media’s CEO. “Our approach will be the same as it has been since we began Turn 3 Media, LLC - to be the leading stewards of American Motorsports news, information and entertainment media. Sprint Car & Midget Magazine will join our fast-growing portfolio of media properties and strategic partnerships - and will give us an even greater opportunity to provide value for fans, sponsors, promoters and racers.”

Marylaurel Eberhart, Esq. of Apollo Sports & Entertainment Law Group consulted on the transaction. Ms. Eberhart is general counsel for Turn 3 Media, LLC and represents a variety of sports clients including motorsports properties, sports facilities, sanctioning bodies, race teams, entrepreneurs, and media companies.

Current subscribers to Sprint Car & Midget Magazine will continue to receive their magazines uninterrupted. Renewal notices will begin going out to recent or upcoming expired subscription holders soon. Subscribers anxious to not miss a single issue are welcome to call (704) 790-0136.
