Inside Line Promotions – WAYNESFIELD, Ohio (Sept. 20, 2017) – Shawn Dancer has taken a bit of time off, but he’s ready to get back in the car this weekend for a doubleheader at Eldora Speedway.
Dancer will compete at the half-mile oval near Rossburg, Ohio, on Friday with the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series and on Saturday with the Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions.
“We took some R and R the last couple of weeks to enjoy the rest of the summer or at least what’s left of it,” he said.
Dancer last raced on Sept. 3 at Waynesfield Raceway Park, where he started 10th in the feature and finished fifth. The weekend prior to that, he competed in Michigan, where he led a few laps.
“The last two times we’ve run the car it’s been really good,” Dancer said. “We’re trying something different and it’s working, at least on the short tracks.”
Having not run with the World of Outlaws since early August, Dancer is excited to get back to the stiff competition on Friday night and see some of his friends who have been out on the road prior to Saturday’s All Star show.
“Eldora has never treated us too well, but hopefully we can turn that around,” he said. “We’re just hoping for two good feature starts and two good feature finishes.”
