26 Promotions – Peoria, AZ – (September 18th, 2017) – Paul Martin recorded his second Power 600 Series – Precision Tile win of the season Saturday night at Canyon Speedway Park, while Scotty Milan ended his night in victory lane for the sixth time this year in the Restricted Division.
Power 600 Series – Precision Tile Micro Sprints returned to the small track at Canyon Speedway Park Saturday night for IMCA Championship Night. Mason Keefer and Jarrett Martin picked up the heat race wins. Paul Martin started third in Heat 1 and moved up one position to finish second, earning him enough passing points to make the 6-car invert and start on the outside of the front row for the 25-lap Feature.
Martin fell back to third three laps in, giving the position to Mason Keefer as the field tried to track down pole-sitter Brandon Sutton. Keefer and Sutton made contact coming out of turn four just under ten laps into the feature and hooked together. The two stayed hooked together all the way back through turns three and four before spinning out in front of the field. Paul Martin made his way around the two as they entered turn three and took over the lead on the restart. Martin led the rest of the way from there, holding off Jarrett Martin in the final laps, for his second consecutive Power 600 Series – Precision Tile feature win. Jarrett Martin and AJ Hernandez completed the podium while Michael Colegrove and Clay Sprau rounded out the top five.
Scotty Milan swept the night in the Restricted division, picking up the heat race win from fifth. As the top qualifier, he’d start the feature from the same position. Milan quickly made his way to the front, crossing the line second to complete lap one. It only took Milan three more laps to chase down and pass Cameron LaRose. Milan pulled away from the field from there to win his sixth feature event of the year.
The Power 600 Series – Precision Tile Micro Sprints return to Canyon Speedway Park for Non-Wing action September 29th and 30th as part of the Sands Chevrolet Hall of Fame Classic. Restricted Micros, Sands Chevrolet USAC Southwest Sprint Cars, NAPA Non-Wing Sprint Cars, Modlites, and Vintage Cars will also be in action. Pit gates open at 4, spectator gates open at 5 with racing action getting underway at 7:00 both nights. There is a mandatory driver’s meeting at the Power 600 Series trailer directly following Canyon’s driver meeting.
