TULSA, Okla. (September 13, 2017) It’s time to get back to action with the ASCS Southwest Region as the series heads to Arizona Speedway in Queen Creek, Ariz. on Saturday, September 16.
The fifth time the series has seen action at the three-eighths mile oval in 2017, four previous trips have yielded just as many winners with Kevin Thomas, Jr. winning on March 11, followed by J.T. Imperial on April 22, Rick Ziehl on May 6, and Colton Hardy on July 1.
Just past the halfway point of the season, Colton Hardy holds a 77 point lead in the series championship, as the Phoenix racer looks to unseat the nine-time and defending champion, Rick Ziehl, who holds the runner-up spot. Lance Norick sits comfortably in third with Josh Shipley and Darrell Sickles completing the top-five in driver standings.
In 10 races of a scheduled 18 on the season, eight drivers have earned wins, with Johnny Herrera and Colton Hardy begin the only two with a pair of wins each.
Action on Saturday, September 16, gets underway at 7:00 P.M. (MST) and includes Dwarfs, Mod Lites, and Pure Stocks.
Admission is $15 for Adults, $12 for Seniors and Military, and Kids 11 and under are free into the Grandstands. Arizona Speedway is located at 47800 N.
