Inside Line Promotions – ELMA, Wash. (Aug. 30, 2017) – Trey Starks produced his 12th top-five finish of the season last Saturday at Grays Harbor Raceway during a rare race in his home state.

Starks ventured west to drive his family owned No. 55 at the 3/8-mile oval, where he set quick time during qualifying to start the action. He then advanced from fourth to third place in a heat race to qualify for the feature inversion, which was the No. 8.

“It was nice to have speed and pick up where we left off in the family car,” he said. “We were ok in our heat race. Drawing the eight put us pretty far back there for the main event. We took a big swing at the setup. It wasn’t the best, but we knew we had to be really good coming from eighth.”

Starks quickly worked into the top five before gaining one more position to finish fourth.

“We were off by a little bit, but we were better toward the end,” he said. “We needed more laps or a caution. The race didn’t play out in our favor, but it was nice to have speed all night and move forward.”

Starks will return to Gobrecht Motorsports this weekend for races on Friday at Williams Grove Speedway in Mechanicsburg, Pa., and Saturday at Selinsgrove Speedway in Selinsgrove, Pa., with the Patriot Sprint Tour and URC and on Sunday at Williams Grove Speedway during a 410ci winged sprint car show.
