Hurricane Harvey Ends ASCS Gulf South At Battleground Speedway

TULSA, Okla. (August 30, 2017) The 2017 season for the Griffith Truck and Equipment ASCS Gulf South Region has come to a close as this weekend’s season finale has been canceled in the wake of the utter devastation from Hurricane Harvey.

Speaking with Bruce Griffith, Jr., who lives just a stone’s throw from Battleground Speedway, the track and areas around the facility are completely submerged, leaving no time in the foreseeable future to attempt a race.

With that said, Ray Allen Kulhanek is the 2017 champion of the Griffith Truck and Equipment ASCS Gulf South Region. This marks the sixth time that the driver of the No. 21t has topped the regional point standings.

Details on the 2018 season are already in the works and will be released at a later date.
