Inside Line Promotions – LONGDALE, Okla. (Aug. 23, 2017) – Saturday night will mark one of the biggest events of the year for Longdale Speedway as the 3/8-mile clay oval will host its lone sprint car show of the season.
The Sprint Series of Oklahoma and the Kansas-based United Rebel Sprint Series will join together for the marquee event, which was rescheduled after falling victim to rain on April 1. This is the only appearance by the URSS in Oklahoma this year.
Jake Martens of Fairview currently leads the SSO championship standings over defending series champion and IMCA sprint car national champion Andy Shouse of Mustang.
Zach Blurton of Quinter, Kan., holds a narrow advantage over Steven Richardson of Manhattan, Kan., and Jed Werner of Codell, Kan., in the URSS championship standings.
The feature will pay $1,000 to win and $250 to start. The event drew 25 cars last year and was won by Luke Cranston of Holcomb, Kan.
An added bonus to the evening’s program will be double features for the IMCA modifieds, IMCA stock cars and IMCA sport mods after their features were postponed by rain on Aug. 5. Pure stocks will also compete.
Cole Traugott of Woodward currently leads the Longdale Speedway modified standings while Travis Baird of Sharon sits atop the stock car standings. Joe Adams of Drummond tops the sport mods standings and Hennessey’s Tyler Scruggs paces the pure stocks standings.
Admission is only $15 for adults and $12 for seniors and military members. Children ages 12 and younger get in free. Saturday is also youth sports night. All youths wearing their team jersey or uniform will have free admission.
Grandstands open at 5:30 p.m. with racing scheduled to begin around 7 p.m.
