Inside Line Promotions – THE WOODLANDS, Texas (Aug. 17, 2017) – Tommy Bryant and the SawBlade.com sponsored Cooper Motorsports team are returning to racing after being idle for the last few weeks.
“We started the year racing a lot and then with rainouts and the heat of the summer causing cancellations we haven’t done much lately,” he said. “I’ve been very busy with my new job and with the family, but I’m definitely excited and ready to get back to racing.”
Bryant will compete in a pair of ASCS Gulf South Region events this weekend, heading to Heart O’Texas Speedway in Waco, Texas, on Friday and South Texas Speedway in Corpus Christi, Texas, on Saturday.
He is chomping at the bit to break a string of third-place finishes.
“It seems like we have a bunch of thirds this year,” he said. “Heck, the last time we were at Waco I finished third and I think the last time we raced at Corpus Christi I was third. That’s like kissing your sister. I’m ready to win more races. This team is ready to win more races. We’ve had great speed all year and I know we can get it done.”
After this weekend’s events, there are only a pair of ASCS Gulf South Region races remaining in 2017 – both at Battleground Speedway in Highlands, Texas, on Sept. 2-3. Bryant recorded a win at the track on March 25.
“We will for sure get to those races and see how things go and possibly a few more events in 2017,” Bryant said.
