Inside Line Promotions – OSKALOOSA, Iowa (Aug. 9, 2017) – Danny Lasoski and Mark Burch Motorsports garnered a top-10 finish during 360 Knoxville Nationals preliminary action for the sixth straight season last Thursday at Knoxville Raceway.

The duo kicked off the 27th edition of the premier event on Thursday by qualifying 20th quickest. Lasoski then maneuvered from third to win a heat race, which locked the team into the 11th starting position for the main event.

“We went out later than we would have hoped for qualifying and that didn’t do us any favors,” he said. “We did the best we could in the heat race and won, which moved us up to start 11th in the main event. After a hectic start where we were able to avoid that big crash we gained a few positions during the race.”

Lasoski advanced a handful of positions to finish seventh. It earned enough points to lock into Saturday’s A Main, which the team started 18th.

“It’s tough to start that deep in the field, especially with how even the cars are today,” he said. “We were able to claw our way through to pick up a few positions.”

The team advanced to a 13th-place result and will return to action at the 57th annual 5-Hour Energy Knoxville Nationals presented by Casey’s General Store this Wednesday through Saturday at Knoxville Raceway. It will be the first time they have competed in the event together.

“Mark works very hard on his program and we’re gaining on the 410 side of things,” Lasoski said. “We were able to shake the car down a bit on Sunday at Knoxville Raceway during the Capitani Classic and on Monday at Southern Iowa Speedway during the Front Row Challenge. We didn’t race during those nights, but we got a few things figured out and I’m excited going into this weekend.”

TEAM JACK APPAREL –

Mark Burch Motorsports will have unique Team Jack Foundation t-shirts for sale at the race trailer throughout this season with 100 percent of the money received going to the Team Jack Foundation.

SPONSOR SPOTLIGHT – Team Jack Foundation

The Team Jack Foundation was established to raise money to fund impactful pediatric brain cancer research and to create national awareness for the disease. The Team Jack Foundation got its start when Jack Hoffman, who is a 10-year-old from Atkinson, Neb., was diagnosed with a brain tumor in 2011. Hoffman battled life-threatening surgeries and debilitating seizures as doctors scrambled to save his life.

During that time his family reached out to the University of Nebraska in hopes that Hoffman could meet Rex Burkhead, who was the star running back for the football team. They met in September 2011 and a friendship was born, which was also featured on ESPN. Burkhead’s support earned him the Rare Disease Champion Award presented by Uplifting Athletes.

As of January 2014, the Team Jack movement has raised $2.5 million and counting for pediatric brain cancer research. The Team Jack Foundation is working with world renowned researchers, directly, to develop relevant and impactful research initiatives.

“We are extremely happy to support the Team Jack Foundation and its mission,” Burch said. “The Team Jack Foundation is something that is special to me. We want to do all we can within the grass roots level of dirt racing where we are known to promote the awareness of pediatric cancer and hopefully help raise additional funds for research to cure the disease.”
