After a long week of working to prepare the second sprint car, Scotty and the team came to the Sheboygan County Fairgrounds in Plymouth, WI. Scotty drew a 48 pill, which set him to start in the 7th position in the nights heat race event. The car felt really good and was compareable to the last car Scotty drove and was shown after Thiel picked off car after car and took the heat race victory! Having the most passing points in the heat race, the invert was 6, which put Scotty to start the A-main event in the 11th spot. The crew dialed in the car for the very dry slick racetrack. While getting all the cars pushed out for the A-main event, Scotty was pushed off and entered the track along side of the pace car and drove to his starting spot. A offical call was made that Scotty passed the pace car and was sent to the back of the A-main. It was a poor judgement call and made many people question why the call was made. With that call, it then started Scotty in the 22nd position. The track was super dry slick but Scotty managed to obtain a 16th finish for the night.
Overall, Scotty and the entire STM crew were happy on the performance. After working all week to prepare a second race car, the heat race win made up for it all. STM would like to thank the guys at Super Shox for building another set of shocks, Jeff Robinson and Todd Rhey for the extra help this weekend, and all of the sponsors on the #64 STM sprint car!
Next stop for STM will be at the Manitowoc County Expo Speedway and back at the Sheboygan County Fairgrounds.
