Inside Line Promotions – SPRINGFIELD, Neb. (Aug. 1, 2017) – Jack Dover is as prepared as he has ever been entering the famed 360 Knoxville Nationals.
Dover has a fresh race car and recently received a fresh engine for the 27th edition of the premier event, which is hosted by Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa, this Thursday through Saturday.
“We are always excited heading to Knoxville and especially the Knoxville Nationals,” he said. “We’ve had a lot of great runs during the event throughout the years, but we’re still seeking that first title.”
Dover charged from 14th to a seventh-place result during his preliminary night last year before he won the B Main and powered from 21st to seventh in the finale. That earned him the Hard Charger Award for passing the most cars.
“We certainly had a car that wanted to move forward,” he said. “We just got behind a bit on our qualifying and had to work hard for top 10s. Hopefully we can set our weekend up by drawing a good pill to go out early in qualifying and then capitalize with a great lap.”
Dover has earned a top-10 result at Knoxville Raceway during seven of his 13 starts the last three seasons. This weekend will mark his season debut at the half-mile oval.
